TAKE ME TO THE MOON (End Game Investigation)

[Friday arrives uneventfully. The fog is growing stronger, it's true, but nothing obvious has happened. It's probably a relief not to have Kakuya's presence or a monster breathing down your neck. That doesn't help the sense that something has changed. Not one but two areas have opened up. A large skyscraper now towers over everything in the east, it's large bulk casting shadows over the entire 'city'. In the west, a park surrounding a lake sprawls out; a solemn looking Japanese shrine sits on an island in the middle of the lake.

Two large new areas are open to you... it's a bit disorienting but you probably should spread out.]

((Welcome to the final investigation for the dead! It's entirely optional so don't feel pressured to join in. ICly, this will be happening at the same time as the living's investigation and trial. Something may happen near the end of the investigation not involving these locations so keep an eye out.))

[There aren't any windows in this room, as it's made out of metal and looks rather military but if she pops her head out of the door... there's a window in a porthole style. It's looking over the ocean.

But the mirror... it feels cold to your touch. You can't enter it but just by your ejection... Kakuya might still have plans for kakuriyo.]

[Cool. Let's immediately wander off, then, and check out what's behind the nearest door.]

[It's a bathroom! Which makes sense, being near barracks. There is a mirror here as well as several showers. It seems that the entire platform is devoid of people other than yourselves. It looks rather empty and lonely.]

[Reika braces herself for someone to come running at her from the tub... that doesn't exist, never mind.

Well, they have a bathroom, at least. With a mirror! Anything happen if she pokes at it?]

[Nothing happens but you do find that you can take it off the wall... though at the moment you don't know why you'd do that.]

[So this means there's a very small balcony area outside that doesn't lead anywhere else and just has a view of the ocean? Maybe they're on a boat?

Dylan is in the middle of a pile complaining about magic. Seems like a great time to be on the "balcony" TBH.]

[The mod forgot to say it's a hallway with a window at the end. But if you explore the area... it seems less like a boat. There's not rocking motion or a sense of movement. It seems to be an offshore platform of some kind?]

[This is actually a distinction that Jeanne can make due to her extended travels on a militarized boat! Nice! While Reika pokes through the doors, Jeanne will examine the hallway itself. Does it, like, loop around so they're ultimately still confined within the platform? Or go onwards a long distance?]

[It seems you have access to the entire platform but... strangely you find that there's no other people and looks rather sinister but nondescript. There's living supplies here if you're stuck here for a long time, though. The sky, though...

It looks normal. This doesn't feel like Closetland, either, despite the fact that your abilities still aren't available. The ocean feels like a normal ocean.]

Shakes a box of living supplies as she tries to peer at whatever label it might have. Are they in some experimental facility in Japan? Is it weirdly American like the Principal's stuff was? Other?]

Insofar as Father claimed to have bought us, it makes some sense. [Dude was American as apple pie specifically, that exact sense, in all the worst ways.]
