TAKE ME TO THE MOON (End Game Investigation)

[Friday arrives uneventfully. The fog is growing stronger, it's true, but nothing obvious has happened. It's probably a relief not to have Kakuya's presence or a monster breathing down your neck. That doesn't help the sense that something has changed. Not one but two areas have opened up. A large skyscraper now towers over everything in the east, it's large bulk casting shadows over the entire 'city'. In the west, a park surrounding a lake sprawls out; a solemn looking Japanese shrine sits on an island in the middle of the lake.

Two large new areas are open to you... it's a bit disorienting but you probably should spread out.]

((Welcome to the final investigation for the dead! It's entirely optional so don't feel pressured to join in. ICly, this will be happening at the same time as the living's investigation and trial. Something may happen near the end of the investigation not involving these locations so keep an eye out.))

[TRYING TO RECKON THIS INFORMATION... are the faces separated from the bodies? Human bodies? That sent their faces onto the turtles? Faces washed off in the water? What...? Jeanne rows faster.]

I imagine they will be glad to wander on the misty surface of the island.

[That is a question you don't know for now. Kakuriyo is a strange place, where the living and dead collide.

Nothing seems to happen to the boat, thankfully. Though when you get off onto the island a small group of turtles huddle together ready to get attention.]

Koishi flits over and holds her hand out. Does one want to be picked up at all? Hop on, buddy. ]

[Jeanne is just relieved that she didn't have to scoop some oily black trinket into her white dress lap!! She clambers out and peers through the gate of the shrine.]

[As soon as Jeanne steps out, she'll realize that multiple turtles are now probably being carried by Koishi. The door to the sanctum of the shrine seems to be open just a little bit, which might be more interesting to Jeanne right now.]

But yes, once she has a few to take with her, she follows Jeanne inside. ]

[THEY ARE NOW INSIDE.]

[She's got no idea. Is that just new year's? Oh well.]

[There's a lot of turtle imagery in here. Several large shells are placed reverently on the wall. There's other sacred objects in here that are, luckily, not harmed. There is something here that's very out of place.

[ Baby.......Koishi goes over to check it out. Is anything inside? ]

[Other sacred objects? That sounds exciting enough to Jeanne that she'll try to look around, but if they really are just very normal, then at least she can see if there's any hidden passage to another room.]

[They might be of interest to someone with a spiritual lean, such as Jeanne, but they don't seem out of place at a sacred site. There's no hidden passages either but... both in the baby carriage and scattered on the floor are pages of a book?]

[HRM. At least the variety of the objects will retain her attention and help track her memories as she wanders around gathering all these pages. Brings them back to Koishi because the carriage seems as good and secular a place as any to centralize the collection. Is it so many that the book might take a long time to read...?]

[It's a part of a book, not the whole thing. There might be more of the book in the other areas but it seems important. The seems to be about an ancient evil spirit. The main character is a monk of some kind who seals the spirit away every ten years. The story takes place around the time of the ritual to seal the spirit in a mirror. It involves giving a spiritually enhanced doll to the spirit.

A ceremony called Nagoshi no Gi. The name of which is crossed out on a lot of the pages but it appears whoever did it wasn't thorough enough to eliminate it completely.]
